Academy FAQs & Policies

Everything you need to know about registering, court policies, cancellations, and clinics.

General How do I know which level to register for?

Please refer to the NTRP Level Guide on our program pages. If you are brand new to tennis, start in Tennis 101. If you can sustain a medium-paced rally, start in Adv. Beginner. Our coaches will evaluate you during your first class and can recommend moving levels to ensure you get the best experience!
General Where are classes held & what equipment do I need?

Location: Our primary courts are located in the Rose Garden neighborhood. Specific court details and arrival directions will be provided in your confirmation email.

What to Bring: Please bring your own tennis racquet, non-marking athletic shoes, and plenty of water. We supply high-quality training tennis balls for all clinic and lesson sessions.

Policy General Registration & Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued within 7 days of any scheduled lesson, clinic, or event start date. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to admin@gripspintennis.com with the subject line "Refund Request".

Approved refunds are subject to:

  • 3% card processing fee (for credit/debit card payments)
  • $9 administration fee
  • Note: No processing fees apply to cash or check payments.
Group Missed Classes: Makeups, credits, or refunds are not provided for individual missed group classes due to personal scheduling, travel, or illness.
Policy Private Lesson Cancellation Policy

24-Hour Notice Required: Private lessons must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours prior to your slot to avoid full charge.

Strict Policy: Late cancellations (under 24 hours notice) or no-shows are billed at the full session rate without exception.
Policy Weather, Heat & Rain-Out Policy

Sessions canceled due to rain, excessive heat (over 92°F), or poor air quality will be rescheduled or added via a makeup session at the end of the term.

Status Updates: In event of inclement weather, notifications are sent via email/text at least 1 hour before class start time. You may also text 650-499-9387 for live court updates.

General What if a class is sold out or underenrolled?

Waitlist: If a class is full, please sign up for the official Waitlist. Spots frequently open up 24–48 hours prior to start time.

Minimum Enrollment: A minimum of 6 participants is required for group clinics. If minimums are not met, sessions may be shortened or rescheduled.

General How do "Donation-Based" clinics work?

Our Advanced 4.0+ Clinic is free to register, but we suggest a voluntary donation to help support academy equipment maintenance and community programs.
